Bayerische Staatsbibliothek Identity
This study project explores a redesign of the corporate identity of the Bavarian State Library in Munich. The institution holds a rich collection of cultural, historical, creative, and contemporary media. From books, images, and music to exhibitions and events, the library serves as a public treasure trove of knowledge and culture, open to everyone. The redesign presents a vision for a more accessible and inviting library, aiming to encourage people to engage with the institution physically rather than relying solely on online research. The new visual identity is based on a simple and flexible modular system that creates a clear and consistent design language. A custom-made typeface was developed as a central element of the identity, giving the institution a distinctive visual voice. Together, these elements ensure strong recognition and adaptability across different formats and applications.
